Texas A&M vs South Carolina live stream, where to watch, TV channel, prediction, selection, spread, match odds

No. 10 Texas A&M hits the road to face South Carolina this week, and it already feels like it's been two different seasons for the Aggies. Maybe it's because they switched back and forth between two different quarterbacks.

The Aggies opened the year with a home loss to Notre Dame in which they appeared to be overwhelmed. It raised serious questions about whether or not the team would seriously compete in the SEC. It's been nothing but victory since then, as Mike Elko's roster went from Conner Weigman to Marcel Reed and back to Conner Weigman and Marcel Reed. Last week, Reed replaced Weigman against LSU and led the A&M offense to a 38-23 win that moved the Aggies back into the top 10. The Aggies are now a +110 bet to make the College Football Playoff, according to sports betting app FanDuel.

Reed is expected to be the starter this week, but whoever starts at QB will have to deal with him. South Carolina's defense has been one of the worst in the country this season and boasts one of the best fronts in college football. Nothing is easy against this unit and considering the atmosphere at Williams-Brice Stadium at night, this game could end well for anyone.

Texas A&M vs. South Carolina: What you need to know

Texas A&M has dominated this young rivalry: Okay, while the game could go either way, recent history suggests it will probably only go one way. The SEC made this a protected rivalry when the Aggies joined the conference, but no one bothered to protect South Carolina. The Aggies are 9-1 against the Gamecocks and six of the wins have come by at least two points. South Carolina's only win came by Shane Beamer, and it was the last time that game was played in Columbia.

Mike Elko is off to the best start by an Aggies coach in over a century: Mike Elko's Aggies are off to a 7-1 start and you have to go back a long way to find the last Texas A&M coach who won seven of his first eight games in College Station. That coach was Dana Bible, and if you don't know that name, it's because his first season was 1917. Aggies fans certainly know, as Bible is third all-time with 72 wins with the program. That puts him behind only RC Slocum (123) and Homer Norton (82).

South Carolina has lost eight straight games to teams ranked in the AP Poll: An eight-game losing streak is no fun, but if there is a silver lining, it's that the streak didn't last as long as the number suggests. Three of those eight losses came this season, and the first five all came last year. South Carolina ended the 2022 season with a 31-30 victory over rival Clemson, which was ranked in the top 10 at the time.

Texas A&M vs South Carolina Prediction, Tips

I know Marcel Reed was great last week, but he was very impressive in his first start of the season against Florida and looked far more dull in his next two appearances. His presence will come as no surprise to South Carolina this week. I think Texas A&M will win this game, but I have a lot more confidence in both defenses that will be on the field, so I would be better off betting on the under team than anything else. Selection: Under 44.5
