Edwards is accused of shooting Catherine Nunez, 33, and her mother, Marisol Nunez, 54. Edwards and Catherine Nunez's son was in the home at the time and was not injured.

Burlington County Prosecutor LaChia L. Bradshaw and Willingboro Township Acting Public Safety Director Capt. Ian Bucs reported the following:

Willingboro officers were called to the home in the first block of Harrington Circle just after 4 a.m. Oct. 30 for a report of a burglary in progress.

Officers discovered the bodies in an upstairs bedroom. They were pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation revealed that entry was gained through a broken window on the ground floor. The suspected murder weapon was discovered outside the home.

Edwards was charged with first-degree murder, first-degree residential burglary armed with a firearm, weapons offenses and endangering the welfare of a child.

Autopsies conducted by forensic pathologist Dr. Ian Hood of Burlington County determined that the cause of death of both victims was multiple gunshot wounds.

The prosecutor blamed multiple law enforcement agencies for the investigation, including the Lansdowne Police Department.
