Teen shot dead in Flint shooting

FLINT, Mich. (WNEM) – According to Michigan State Police, a 17-year-old boy was shot and killed in Flint on Saturday evening.

It happened on Saturday around 6:30 p.m.

MSP said troopers assigned to the Flint Post were stationed near Essex St. and Pasadena Ave. were patrolling and encountered an armed suspect.

MSP said the boy ran and was shot. A loaded handgun was found at the scene.

The police officers involved have been placed on leave and an investigation is ongoing.
