Crime Fighters 6abc: Montgomery County couple searches for missing son Amir Rashid, last seen in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — A Montgomery County couple is asking the public for help after their son disappeared in Philadelphia in late September.

Tariq and Rhonda Rashid are looking for their son Amir.

The 28-year-old reportedly left his home on the 1500 block of Page Street in North Philadelphia more than a month ago. He hasn't been seen since.

“He got into an argument with his girlfriend. He seemed to be dealing with infidelity,” Tariq said.

Some of Amir's movements were captured on Temple University cameras.

“It is our understanding that the last sighting of the camera, Temple, was on Dauphin Street approaching Broad Street at approximately 12:41 a.m. on Monday, September 23rd,” Rhonda said.

Amir was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt, gray shorts and a black backpack.

His parents say he is a sociable person with a large network of friends.

“He has many, many friends who were actually the first to raise the alarm,” Rhonda said. “What's up? We haven't heard from him. That just doesn’t happen.”

The Citizens Crime Commission is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to Amir's whereabouts.

All you have to do is call 215-546-TIPS. All calls remain anonymous.

“We have been encouraged by the love we have seen and shared and we are grateful for it. And we know that people can be moved to share their knowledge,” said Rhonda.

His parents have a message for Amir.

“We can’t wait to see you because we just love you. We miss you and know that you will be home every day now and we are ready,” Tariq added.
