Death threat against Yogi Adityanath in Mumbai with reference to Baba Siddique

Mumbai:

The Mumbai Traffic Police has received a death threat against Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. She threatened the BJP leader with murder “like Baba Siddique” if he does not resign as chief minister within 10 days. This came weeks after Baba Siddique, former minister and NCP leader (Ajit Pawar), was shot dead in Bandra. The threat against the Uttar Pradesh chief minister comes amid a series of death threats against actor Salman Khan.

A WhatsApp helpline at the Mumbai Traffic Police control room received a message from an unknown number last night. The message said that Yogi Adiyanath will be “killed like Baba Siddique” if he does not resign within 10 days. The Mumbai Police is investigating the matter and trying to trace the sender of the message.

The latest threat report comes amid a wave of death threats that Mumbai police have received in recent weeks. Most of them were directed at Salman Khan and threatened that the actor would be killed if he did not pay a ransom. In light of the shooting outside the actor's apartment earlier this year, police officers tracked down the senders of these messages and took them into custody. These include a vegetable seller from Jamshedpur and a tattoo artist from Noida. The Mumbai police have taken her into custody and are interrogating her.

One of these threatening messages named Zeeshan Siddique, Bandra MLA and son of Baba Siddique. The former minister was shot dead near his son's office on October 12. Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi's gang has claimed responsibility for the murder.

The slain politician was known to be close to Salman Khan, who had received death threats from the Bishnoi gang in the past, apparently due to his involvement in blackbuck hunting in Rajasthan during the Hum Saath Saath Hain shooting. It was also found that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was behind the shooting outside Salman Khan's house in April. The actor's security has been beefed up following the gunfire outside and death threats.
