Man arrested for armed robbery in Clovis

A man was arrested Wednesday morning following an armed robbery at a business Tuesday evening, Clovis police said.

According to CPD, officers were called to a massage parlor in the area of ​​Shaw and Dewitt just after 7 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Witnesses reported that an adult male entered the store, brandished a handgun and robbed an employee of cash before driving away in a car.

According to CPD, no one was injured in the incident and no shots were fired.

Through the use of private surveillance cameras and the City Camera network, officers and detectives were able to identify the man as 24-year-old Victor Vargas of Clovis.

Investigators arrested Vargas near Shaw and Minnewawa on Wednesday morning.

On Wednesday afternoon, CPD served a search warrant at Vargas' home.

CPD says three airsoft guns were found and they are working to determine if any of them match the description of the handgun used Tuesday night.

Vargas was booked into the Fresno County Jail on robbery charges.
