Blazers tip for the 2024/2025 NBA season against the Golden State Warriors

The Portland Trail Blazers open the 2024-2025 NBA season on Wednesday when they take on the Golden State Warriors at the Moda Center. The Blazers will look to improve on their 21-61 season last season. Portland will look to end a three-year playoff drought.

Led by head coach Chauncey Billups, the Blazers return a group of players including Scoot Henderson, Anfernee Simons, Deandre Ayton, Jerami Grant and Shaedon Sharpe. Donovan Clingan, the seventh overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, will look to make an early impact.

The Warriors return Steph Curry and Draymond Green, while Klay Thompson is headed to the Dallas Mavericks.

The Blazers are also returning to free over-the-air television for their games this season. The RipCity TV Network includes KATU, KATU 2.2 and BlazerVision, the new streaming option.

KATU also launched The Rip City Wrap-Up with KATU Athletic Director Tyree Smith, Joe Simons and Dan Marang. The Rip City Wrap-Up airs after every game, giving fans an in-depth look at the Blazers as well as unmatched commentary from people who know the team inside and out.

“This is a season that will not be judged by wins or losses, but by development. This is the part of the rebuild where the Blazers begin to decide who will play a role in the next era,” says Dan Marang. “The hope is that they both figure this out — gather the necessary data — while playing a faster, more exciting brand of basketball than we've seen in recent years, and build an identity based on that going forward.”

“This season will change the Blazers for the better,” Tyree Smith said.
