Reports: Ezekiel Elliott inactive due to missed meetings and late arrival

When it was announced on Saturday that the Cowboys had not brought running back Ezekiel Elliott to Sunday's game against the Falcons in Atlanta, it was said that disciplinary reasons were behind the decision.

Sunday brought a few reports that shed more light on why the Cowboys are disciplining Elliott. Fox Sports' Jay Glazer Reports that Elliott was late to several team events last week, NFL Network's Jane Slater reports that he missed it a full session on Friday.

Slater adds that in addition to being “habitual late,” Elliott also missed other meetings.

Elliott returned to the Cowboys this year after spending the 2023 season with the Patriots. He has 48 carries for 149 yards and two touchdowns while splitting time with Rico Dowdle in the backfield.

Dowdle, Dalvin Cook and Deuce Vaughn will be the backfield options in Atlanta on Sunday.
