Canadian man arrested in Michigan with 370 pounds of cocaine

A Canadian man who was allegedly caught with more than 370 pounds of cocaine has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance of 1,000 grams or more.

Sukjindr Singh, 29, was arrested on October 15 after the drugs were discovered in a semi-truck he was driving during a traffic stop on Pine Grove Avenue in Port Huron, Michigan. The city shares a border crossing with Ontario, Canada, at the Blue Water Bridge over the St. Clair River.

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office said the bust was the largest drug bust in the Drug Task Force's history. The total market value of the drugs was estimated at $16.5 million.

Singh was arraigned on October 18. His bail was set at $500,000. A preliminary examination is scheduled for November 5th at 10 a.m.

Dispensing a quantity of narcotics of 1,000 grams or more is punishable by life in prison and/or a fine of up to $1 million.
