Lance Stroll crashes on the formation lap, throwing the Brazilian Grand Prix into chaos

There was a chaotic turn of events at the Brazilian Grand Prix as Canadian Formula One driver Lance Stroll suffered another mishap, adding to a weekend full of challenges. Shortly before the start of the race, Stroll suffered another setback: the driver slipped off the track on the formation lap, hit the wall, then drove through gravel and landed his car.

This incident followed an earlier accident during today's qualifying and made the day a memorable one for the Aston Martin driver.

In the second quarter, Stroll crashed his Aston Martin into the barriers in Turn 3. This accident occurred just under two minutes before the end and led to a break in training. The delay in issuing a red flag to allow Stroll to attempt to return to the pits had further controversial consequences.

it unintentionally hindered other competitors and affected Red Bull Racing's Max Verstappen. As the incident unfolded, it effectively wiped out Verstappen's fast lap and prevented him from improving his position, resulting in him starting much further back on the grid than expected.

Verstappen was relegated to 12th place after other drivers took advantage of the delay to improve their times. Due to an engine penalty of five places, the reigning world champion had to start the race from 17th place, a significant disadvantage given his typical top performances.

Just as the grid was ready for action, Lance Stroll's car, freshly repaired from the damage he sustained in his accident today, got stuck in the gravel. This incident, which was defined as an “aborted start,” caused renewed commotion as the starting lineup was reshuffled. The immediate result was a delay in the start of the race, pushing the event back to 12:47 p.m. from its scheduled start of 12:30 p.m. local time.
