Jake Paul's sparring partner in the viral Mike Tyson breaks his silence with a shocking message

The little-known sparring partner who Jake Paul recently denounced in a video clip has finally spoken out after the footage went viral.

In the middle of last month, the YouTuber and former boxer posted a video of himself knocking down an unknown heavyweight sparring partner in preparation for his upcoming fight with Mike Tyson. It was later revealed that the teammate was top-15 player DeAndre Savage.

Since then, there has been radio silence from Savage, who was seen training at Paul's luxurious Puerto Rican training base in a number of other social media posts. But he finally spoke out on Instagram and thanked the YouTube star for his help during the fight camp.

Jake Paul dumped his sparring partner in viral Mike Tyson training clip

To promote his upcoming fight with Tyson, Jake Paul posted a video on October 17 in which he appeared to knock down a teammate during a sparring session. The social media star lowered his head and shot his right hand to the right, similar to the shot he used to knock Tyron Woodley unconscious in 2021.

Paul mocked Tyson in his caption, writing that the legendary boxer should “take notes.” In a later part of the footage, he also said that the former world heavyweight champion should be careful “not to come at him.”

The video has been viewed over 10 million times on Instagram, with millions more views on other social platforms. Some fans were unconvinced by his opponent's level, but it later emerged that he had brought a legitimate candidate into his camp.

The sparring partner dropped by Jake Paul turned out to be one of the top 15 heavyweights

After the video went viral, a search began with eagle-eyed fans looking for the downed heavyweight. With few visible tattoos or other identifying marks and a thick hat, his identity appeared to be well preserved in the footage.

However, when some fans on X, formerly Twitter, claimed it was undefeated heavyweight Jeremiah Milton, he clapped back and revealed who was actually in the video. He had already fought Savage in the amateurs and stopped him early in a previously viral clip.

Savage has since moved on to the professional ranks, winning six fights by knockout en route to a perfect record. He also had two no-contests and his wins were enough to earn him a spot in the top 15 of the WBA. one of the most important umbrella organizations in boxing.

DeAndre Savage speaks out for the first time since the viral knockdown video

Now, for the first time since the video went viral, Savage has taken to social media to voice his thoughts. And while he didn't mention the viral clip, he shared photos of his new home, which he said was partially funded by his earnings as Paul's teammate in Puerto Rico.

“I would like to say a huge thank you to boxing for helping me earn a living to travel around the world,” he wrote. “I would also like to thank my coach @3rdworldboxing, Jake Paul's head coach, for selling me my first home.

“I would like to thank @jakepaul for helping me earn the money to buy my first home, which sits on a 1.5 acre lot with a large barn in the back yard. This year has been a great year by far. There are big fights coming, stay tuned.”
