Eagles vs. Jaguars: Live score updates, highlights, injury news

The Philadelphia Eagles are back at Lincoln Financial Field to take on Doug Pederson's Jacksonville Jaguars. The Birds, up 7.5 points at home, are looking for their fourth straight win while wearing their Kelly Green third jerseys (also known as their best jerseys).

If all goes according to plan, the Eagles will leave Week 9 with a record of 6-2. If the Eagles can't beat a bad and struggling Jags team, the goodwill they've built over the last few weeks could quickly disappear and fall to 5-3.

FIRST QUARTER

  • The Jags won the coin toss and elected to defer, so the Eagles went on offense first. Ben VanSumeren immediately declared himself eligible to play and officially announced his start at fullback. Jalen Hurts threw a diving AJ Brown over the middle on the first play from scrimmage. Saquon Barkley's first touch went five yards up the middle. On 3rd-and-5, Hurts hit Grant Calcaterra at the marker for the first first down of the game. On 3rd and 2, a run by Kenny Gainwell only gained one yard. On 4th-and-1, the Eagles lined up for a brotherly shove…and DeVonta Smith pointed to the slot…but Jack Stoll moved early and had a false start. A Braden Mann punt led to Sydney Brown forcing the Jags returner into a fumble to save Kelee Ringo! The Eagles took over at the plus-20 yard line. A Hurts throw against…BVS…resulted in no win. Then Hurts uncorked Barkley on the wheel route and the running back made the over-the-shoulder grab for the score! Great throw, great catch. EAGLES 7, JAGUARS 0.
  • Zack Baun had a pretty good pass breakup for a linebacker going into coverage against a wide receiver. He then made a tackle for a brief Jags lead. The guy is just everywhere. On 3rd-and-7, Trevor Lawrence managed to hit Parker Washington beyond the marker for a first down, with Quinyon Mitchell allowing the catch. On 3rd and 4, Josh Sweat managed to tackle Lawrence for an 8-yard sack. Milton Williams also applied heavy pressure in the middle, forcing Lawrence to lower his eyes.
  • The Eagles took over at their own 11-yard line. After Hurts attempted to make a run but was sacked, he faced 3rd-and-12 and committed a false start. On 3rd-and-16, Hurts completed a pass to Calcaterra just in front of the post. Zero yards gained, three-and-out. Will Shipley made a good tackle in punt coverage.
  • The Jags took over at their own 41-yard line. After Nakobe helped Dean break up a pass, Lawrence's third down failed on 3rd-and-5. Three-and-out.
  • The Eagles took over at their own 7-yard line. After two Barkley runs, Hurts faced third-and-3 and found AJ Brown – who had waved to Tyson Campbell before the snap – for a first down. Barkley rolled over a Jags defender for another first down, this time into Jags territory. A Hurts run out of bounds brought the end of the first quarter.

SECOND QUARTER

  • After Barkley was stopped for a loss, Hurts hit Barkley in the flat on 3rd-and-6…and the running back forced not one, not two, but THREE missed tackles – including one where he jumped over a guy… BACKWARD. Lmao, I've never seen that before, that's crazy! On 3rd-and-7, Hurts stepped up and broke several tackles to get past the marker and get another first down into the red zone. On 3rd-and-6, Hurts held the ball long and got a 9-yard sack after running backwards. Jake Elliott was still able to score the 43-yard field goal. EAGLES 10, JAGUARS 0.
