Things looked pretty bleak for the New York Jets on Thursday.

And then Garrett Wilson tested the team and potentially saved the season and, in the eyes of one of the team's former wide receivers, some jobs.

New York trailed the Houston Texans 10-7 in the fourth quarter of Thursday's contest and was on the verge of falling to 2-7 with no hope of a turnaround. But everything changed when Aaron Rodgers threw a deep ball into the back of the end zone, sending Wilson flying into the air before going down with a one-handed catch.

He looked like the Jumpman logo when he made the one-handed catch that ultimately gave the Jets a 21-13 win.

“He should put that on a T-shirt and sell it right away,” former Jets receiver Brandon Marshall said in a Sunday story by ESPN’s Rich Cimini. “[It’s] the catch that turned the Jets’ season around and saved many jobs.”

This is a win-now season for New York with the 40-year-old Rodgers at center stage. The team has already acquired Davante Adams and fired head coach Robert Saleh, underscoring the sense of urgency that runs through the franchise.

With that in mind, had the Jets fallen to 2-7, even the most optimistic fans probably would have given up on the rest of the season. Perhaps that would have led to even more layoffs and a complete overhaul within the organization.

Instead, the team gets back on track after a dramatic comeback win.

It should be noted that the Jets still have a lot of work to do to achieve their goals. They're still just 3-6 and may need to finish at least 6-2 to have a realistic shot at the playoffs.

But an offense with Rodgers, Adams, Wilson and Breece Hall has the talent to do just that, which Marshall said would certainly save some jobs within the organization.
