Current conditions

Utah: Alta reported about 7 inches of new snow overnight, with the possibility of another 1 to 2 inches today.
Colorado: Light snow will fall in Snowmass and Steamboat, but conditions are expected to improve. Heavy snow is expected from this afternoon into tomorrow morning.

Upcoming storm systems

A cold front is moving through the region, bringing with it moisture that will lead to moderate snow accumulations in the mountains.
The forecast suggests a large storm system will develop along this front, particularly affecting Colorado and New Mexico.
This system is expected to continue and produce additional snowfall for several days.

Snow accumulation forecasts

Colorado: Forecasts call for 4 to 8 inches of snow for areas like Loveland and Winter Park, up to 10 inches in southern regions.
New Mexico: Similar forecasts suggest 5-10 inches for northern areas.
There is also potential for another cold front the following week, bringing more snow from Canada.
