Man is accused of making a false bomb threat at Dunedin City Hall because he was unable to log into the payroll application

According to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office, a 48-year-old Clearwater man was arrested Sunday for making a bomb threat in the Dunedin City Hall parking lot.

Deputies said they responded to Dunedin City Hall, 737 Louden Avenue, around 9:30 a.m. after reports that Jerome Lee Chambers was threatening to kill people. The investigation found that Chambers became upset after he was unable to log into his employer's payroll application to receive his salary.

Witnesses told officers that Chambers became increasingly angry and stated several times that he was going to blow them up before walking to his vehicle and grabbing a black duffel bag.

Officials say Chambers' behavior caused witnesses to become fearful and leave the area.
