The woman's boyfriend alerted the police using the Find My iPhone app and shared the victim's location. The vehicle was located by a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department helicopter on the 5 Freeway near the Bandini exit and the CHP was alerted.

The vehicle was located by CHP officers and the driver refused to stop, leading several officers on a 21-mile chase that ended when spiked strips punctured the vehicle's tires.

After a slow-speed chase, the driver came to a stop near the 405 Freeway and Westminster Avenue around 8:33 p.m., police said.

The cars behind the chase were held back by police. After the suspect surrendered, a massive traffic jam broke up on the southbound 405 Freeway.
