The Dallas Mavericks got a nice win at home against the Orlando Magic and are 4-2 this season. The Mavericks certainly won't win any awards for this win, especially considering Orlando was missing its best player in Paolo Banchero. However, we don't apologize for 23 point wins here. The Mavs were able to get out and run in this game, which is always an advantage. The offense hasn't performed at its highest level yet, so generating those easy points in transition helped Dallas extend a lead to as many as 33. It helps to get into transition when the opponent is 33% from the field, which is exactly what Dallas did tonight.

Daniel Gafford and Dereck Lively combined for 29 points in this game, an outstanding performance from the center position. Anytime the Mavs centers can contribute like that, the Mavericks will add some numbers to the roster. Tonight was no exception.

32: Highest total minutes of any Mavericks player

The best part of a stunning win is getting to manage the minutes of the team's most important players. This becomes even more important when you play the first game in a back-to-back game. An added bonus is being able to hold Kyrie Irving and PJ Washington under 30 minutes, both of whom saw heavy minutes against Houston on Thursday. Klay's protocols need to be monitored year-round, and mishaps are an easy way to keep him under control. Given Indiana's style of play, it's also important that Doncic only plays 32 minutes. The Pacers have been a poor game for Dallas lately, so we'll see if the extra rest can give Dallas a boost.
