Election officials in Webster County are advising voters to do their research before going to the polls

WEBSTER COUNTY, Mo. (KY3) – Webster County officials are preparing voters to do research before they go to the polls this week or next Tuesday.

Webster County Clerk Stan Whitehurst said key voters in the county are prepared before casting their ballot.

“It's a very long election process. There are issues about the candidates and issues on both sides,” Whitehurst said. “You can skip candidates and problems if you want, but it would be better if you took a few minutes to read through a selection so you are familiar with the questions before you get there.”

Webster Co. voter Connie Goodwin said she did her research to vote earlier this year to avoid the long lines.

“I went to the Missouri website for these judges and saw how they voted. That helped me make this decision,” Goodwin said. “I didn’t want to wait until the very last minute.”

Election judges like Rick Ayers said he sat down with his entire family before they went to vote.

“We printed the ballot online and looked through it before we came in, so you won’t be surprised when you sit down,” Ayers said.
