After the great reception Tron: Identity well received by critics and fans alike, many are excited about the follow-up game, Tron: CatalystRumor has it that it will be released sometime in 2025. While developers try to keep information secret, not doing so has proven more difficult in this day and age. Now it seems Bithell Games and Tron: Catalyst Now they have a gameplay leak.

In a now-deleted video posted to YouTube, gameplay of what is expected to be the game's first mission was revealed. The leak also appears to come from a playtest that people can sign up for. Above all, it showed how the protagonist of the game walks through the environment and talks to other characters in the game. Although combat and the famous light cycle don't play a role in the gameplay, glimpses were provided in the reveal trailer released earlier this month.

While neither Bithell nor Disney have commented on the leaked gameplay, Mike Bithell recently expressed his excitement for the development of the classic IP, stating:

I'm very interested in artificial intelligence, computers, robots and aliens, so it was just the thing… I wore out the VHS tape of Tron because… I loved it as a kid.

He continued:

This was a story about someone who made computer games, which as a kid I thought were the coolest thing in the world. Obviously I now know the terrible reality that it is a very nerdy job.

While the previous installment was a visual novel focused on solving puzzles, Tron: Catalyst seems to be a more action-oriented game where the protagonist fights with the identity disc and rides on the light cycles. As of now, the game will be available on all systems including PS5, Xbox Series X & S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
