In the agricultural state of Michigan, water concerns are leading to a dispute over biogas permits

FREMONT, MI – It was April 27, 2020, and Kathy Morrison was suddenly receiving calls and messages about a liquid waste product called “digester” that was leaking from a nearby farm and flooding the backyard of a neighboring home.

Managers at the Fremont Regional Digester, which makes the smelly liquid from waste and manure from food production, wanted to know what the problem was.
