Sample ballot for Cullman County

CULLMAN, Ala. – The 2024 general election will take place this Tuesday, November 5th.

“It is important that everyone registered in Cullman County vote on this day,” said Cullman County Probate Judge Tammy Brown. “Your vote, your voice – and it makes a difference and your voice counts.”

Polling stations are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. ID is required to vote. The public is invited to watch the counting and reporting of ballots in the main courtroom on the third floor of the Cullman County Courthouse beginning at approximately 8:00 p.m.

Most of the races on this year's ballot for Cullman County are uncontested.

The most important race is, of course, the race for President of the United States. Candidates include Republican Donald Trump, Democrat Kamala Harris, Independent Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Independent Chase Oliver and Independent Jill Stein.

Democrat Greg Griffin and Republican Sarah Stewart are running for chief justice of the Alabama Supreme Court.

Voters can also vote “yes” or “no” on a statewide and a local amendment.

Text of Statewide Amendment 1:

Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of Alabama, 2022, to grant certain Sixteenth Section and Compensation school lands owned by the Franklin County School System, located in Fayette County and Walker County, and designated exclusively for school use in the Franklin County School System to the Franklin County Board of Education; and to provide for the distribution of all proceeds and interest derived from such land to the Franklin County Board of Education. (Proposed by Law 2024-301)

Text of local change 1:

With respect to Cullman County, a 2022 amendment to the Alabama Constitution is proposed to impose a 15 percent sales tax on the sale of lawfully sold medical cannabis products and to provide for distribution of the tax proceeds to the Cullman County District Attorney's Office and for mental health purposes Health. (Proposed by Law 2023-255)
