2 motorcyclists died in separate accidents in Colorado Springs on Sunday | Traffic

Two motorcyclists were killed in two separate collisions that occurred within about 90 minutes of each other on Sunday, according to Colorado Springs police.

Around 3:30 p.m., officers were called to a collision between two vehicles and a motorcycle in the 600 block of Garden of the Gods Road, near North Chestnut Street, police said. The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Just before 5 p.m. Sunday, officers were dispatched to the 1900 block of Monterey Road where a second collision had occurred between a motorcycle and a vehicle. When officers arrived, they found the motorcyclist unconscious on the road, police said. Firefighters and American Medical Response personnel provided assistance, but the driver died at the scene.

Investigators determined excessive speed was a factor in the second accident. No arrests have been announced in either incident.
