Massachusetts man accused of trafficking meth in Bangor

A Massachusetts man has been charged with trafficking methamphetamine in Bangor.

Damian Quinones, 23, of Worcester, Massachusetts, was charged with aggravated trafficking in illegal drugs, according to Sgt. Jason McAmbley, a spokesman for the Bangor Police Department.

Jail records show Quinones was also charged with displaying false license plates and operating a motor vehicle without a license.

Officer Michael Blakely stopped a truck driven by Quinones in a business parking lot on Main Street around 2 a.m. Saturday, McAmbley said Monday.

According to McAmbley, Blakely stopped Quinones after discovering his registration had expired in May 2024, even though stickers on his license plates showed an expiration date of November 2024.

The officer discovered that Quinones did not have a driver's license and his right to drive in Maine was revoked, McAmbley said.

A search of Quinones' truck revealed a “significant amount of suspected methamphetamine,” McAmbley said. McAmbley was unable to disclose the amount of drugs seized and said in an email to the Bangor Daily News that the department was awaiting lab results.

Quinones remained in the Penobscot County Jail Monday morning.
