Residents in Sanger advised people to seek shelter because of the ammonia leak

SANGER, Calif. (KFSN) — Residents near Pitman Farms in Sanger are asked to shelter in place due to an ammonia leak.

Crews were on scene at North Avenue and Academy Avenue throughout the morning.

Officials say residents may smell ammonia in the air.

They added that if you start smelling it, you should turn off all air conditioning and stay indoors.

Fresno Fire is helping with the cleanup effort.
