Fake registration sticker leads to drug bust in Bangor

BANGOR (WGME) – A Massachusetts man is facing multiple charges after police say they found a significant amount of suspected meth during a traffic stop in Bangor.

Police said they stopped a truck in a business parking lot on Main Street around 2 a.m. Saturday after discovering that the registration had expired in May 2024, even though the sign had a sticker saying that the license plate expired in November 2024. It later turned out to be a fake sticker.

According to police, the driver, 23-year-old Damian Quinones of Worcester, Massachusetts, did not have a driver's license.

Police said they searched the vehicle and found a significant amount of suspected methamphetamine.

Quinones was arrested and faces multiple charges, including aggravated trafficking in illegal drugs.

He was taken to the Penobscot County Jail.
