Tractor trailer crash leads to closure of I-97 near Millersville

According to police, a portion of Interstate 97 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, was closed Monday after a crash involving a tractor-trailer.

A portion of Interstate 97 in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, was closed Monday after a crash involving a tractor-trailer.

In a social media post, Anne Arundel County police said the crash occurred in the area of ​​northbound I-97 near the on-ramp to westbound Route 32.

At 11:50 a.m., police said northbound I-97 was closed just before the Route 32 exit. Then, at 12:10 p.m., police announced that the southern portion of the highway in that area would also be closed for some time.

Police did not provide details about possible injuries in connection with the accident.

According to Anne Arundel County Police, motorists should expect significant delays in both directions and use an alternate route if possible.
