Antonio Pierce: I will decide in the next few days who will call the offensive plays

Antonio Pierce was named head coach of the Raiders mid-season last year and made some significant changes to his staff mid-season this year.

The Raiders fired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello and offensive line coach James Cregg following Sunday's 41-24 loss to the Bengals. All three coaches were hired by Pierce this offseason, and he told reporters in a video conference Monday that it was “100 percent” his decision to part ways with the trio.

Pierce also said he hasn't yet settled on who will call the offensive plays while responding to a question about why he made the switch.

“Just performance, results and production,” Pierce said. “It just wasn’t going in the direction I wanted. I will use the next 24 to 48 hours to sit down with the staff and find out who will lead the offense going forward.”

The Raiders have a bye this week and Pierce said he and his team will use that time to decide who will start at quarterback in Week 11. Gardner Minshew was substituted for Desmond Ridder in Sunday's defeat and was on the bench at the start of the season before returning to the lineup following Aidan O'Connell's thumb injury.
