Trump goes off script at final campaign rally and shares ominous prediction

Donald Trump seemed to realize midway through Monday morning's rally that his campaign appearance in Raleigh, North Carolina, would be his last in the state.

The former president processed this realization in real time and deviated from the script before returning to threatening territory with his written remarks.

“Remember: I’m not going to do this with North Carolina anymore,” he said. “And I won't do that anymore – after today, all I'm thinking is that I'm going through this, that this will be our last moment.”

“But the more truly, the more exciting the moment will begin,” he continued.

Trump spoke at the JS Dorton Arena, taking the stage 40 minutes after his scheduled arrival, when turnout at the 7,610-seat venue was reportedly lower than expected. In fact, some empty seats were visible in reporters' videos of the rally, a day before Trump faces Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in the election.

“Look, these moments of hundreds and hundreds of the most incredible rallies in every country – no country has ever seen anything like this – but these moments, these moments that we had together, these really just served to create what we hope to achieve “Creating tomorrow means we will make America great again,” Trump said. “So we will have a lot of meetings, but no rallies. We will – perhaps we will commit to our success.”

Then Trump returned to his teleprompter, where his written remarks offered grim hints about what would lie ahead if he were elected.

“After all we have been through together, we are on the verge of the four greatest years in American history,” he predicted.

“With your help, we will restore America’s promise and reclaim the nation we all love so much. We are one people, one family and one glorious nation under God.”

Trump, who was impeached for trying to overturn the 2020 election results by urging a violent mob to attack the U.S. Capitol, then vowed to “never, ever surrender.”

“Together we will fight, fight, fight and win, win, win,” he said. “Nov. 5 will be the most important day in the history of our country.”
