The sheriff says Mann is charged with murder in connection with a shooting that killed a 4-year-old girl and injured four others

SAN ANTONIO — A man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a shooting that killed a 4-year-old girl and injured four other family members at a townhouse in northeast Bexar County, according to the Bexar County Sheriff's Office.

Isaiah Perales, 20, was taken into custody in the 10600 block of Green Arbor Street, Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar said. He was charged with four-year-old murder in connection with the death.

Perales was also charged with aggravated assault – mass shooting, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two counts of aggravated assault on a child.

The shooting happened on May 8 around 7:40 p.m. in the 6700 block of Windsor Hollow Drive.

Two men got out of a vehicle, ran to a townhouse and fired dozens of shots into the house before running back to their car and driving toward Walzem Road, BCSO said.

The shooting victims included a man, a woman and three of their children. The 4-year-old was killed almost instantly after suffering a gunshot wound to the head, Salazar said.

A 7-year-old boy was shot in the arm and stomach. An 8-year-old boy was shot in the knee. The children's parents were also shot.

After the shooting, BCSO released photos and videos of the two men opening fire on the home. Salazar said at least four people were involved in the crime.

According to Salazar, the men who shot up the house used Draco AK-47-type weapons.

Through a tip from San Antonio Crime Stoppers, BCSO identified Perales as the primary suspect in the case, Salazar said. Digital evidence traced Perales' steps before and after the shooting.

Salazar said the sheriff's office discovered that Perales had searched the Windsor Hollow home address before the shooting. Perales' cell phone was near the crime scene at the time of the shooting, BCSO said.

Perales' cell phone was turned back on after the shooting and the sheriff's office noticed it in various areas of Bexar County. During the investigation, authorities determined that the cell phone was located at Calaveras Lake.

A few days ago, BCSO and Harris County Sheriff's Office dive teams found a Draco AK-47 pistol in five feet of water in Calaveras Lake on Monday, Salazar said.

The Draco AK-47 style weapon was submitted to the Bexar County Crime Lab. Salazar said when the gun was tested at the scene, the shell casings matched those found at the crime scene.

Salazar mentioned two people of interest in the case: Ashton Garcia and Bryan Salazar. Two weeks ago, BCSO executed arrest warrants for Garcia and Bryan Salazar.

Bryan Salazar was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence and deadly conduct, BCSO said. The tampering with evidence charge was based on Salazar deleting evidence from his cellphone that tied him to the shooting, according to BCSO.

The sheriff's office said Bryan Salazar has since been released from jail and remains under house arrest. BCSO said it is highly likely he could be named as a suspect in the case.

Garcia was at large for several days before turning himself in to authorities, BCSO said. The sheriff's office said evidence found at his home could link him to the Windsor Hollow shooting.

“There will be more arrests in this case,” Salazar said.

Salazar said anyone with further information about this case can contact BCSO at 210-335-6000.
