1 injured, 1 charged in fight at Greenbrier Middle School

EVANS, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – A student is facing charges after being involved in a fight at Greenbrier Middle School, the Columbia County School District said Monday.

Parents were informed of the fight in a gym class on Monday afternoon in a letter from school principal Toni Cliatt.

One student sustained injuries and one student will be prosecuted and held accountable under the Student Code of Conduct.

“The safety of students and staff is our top priority and while this was not a true emergency, the incident occurred in the presence of other students and we felt it was important to notify our parents,” the district said. “Please note that inappropriate physical contact is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.”
