Three women are accused of mail theft in Miller County

COLUMBIA, Missouri (KMIZ)

Three women are accused of stealing mail in Miller County, according to a news release from the Miller County Sheriff's Office and court documents.

Tammy Michelle Schnieders, 48, of Eldon, is charged with one count of mail forgery and mail theft and another count of mail theft. She is being held in Miller County on a $25,000 bond on one count and a $10,000 bond on the second case.

Deborah Sue Holloway, 52, of Eldon, is charged with mail forgery and mail theft. She is being held in the Miller County Jail on a $25,000 bond. Rose Marie Cooper, 57, of Kaiser, is charged with two counts of mail theft and is being held in the Miller County Jail on a $10,000 bond.

A man was also arrested during Schnieder's arrest on Friday, according to court documents. Richard Schnieders Jr., 51, was charged with drug possession and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held in the Miller County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

All four people appeared for an arraignment Monday and a case conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday at the Miller County Courthouse.

According to a probable cause statement, a victim told law enforcement on Friday that property tax bills had been stolen from a mailbox and that her roommate had seen “an elderly lady with no teeth” driving a blue Dodge pickup with a black tailgate.

Another victim also said they were notified that a package had been delivered to their home, but it was stolen, the statement said. That person also claimed he saw tax returns on the ground near another residence, the statement said.

According to the statement, officers conducted a traffic stop on Tammy Schnieders' vehicle, which also involved her and Cooper. Both women are said to have admitted theft.

In a second probable cause statement, a victim claimed that mail containing a check was stolen from his mailbox and that the amount of money taken from his account did not match what he had written and was sent to another party had gone. The signature allegedly matched Tammy Schnieders' signature from a previous bond, the statement said. She allegedly admitted taking the check and tampering with it, as did Holloway, the statement said.
