UIW wide receiver Jalen Walthall's viral touchdown celebration is causing a stir across the NFL

SANN ANTONIO – Speaking of UIW, that winning streak was extended in part because Jalen Walthall scored a touchdown.

But it was his celebration that seemed to take the entire internet by storm.

Walthall does a headstand in the end zone, turning completely around before bending over and falling on his back.

We're not sure if he was the first to do this, but he won't be the last as we saw it in the NFL today from Lions receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Drake London of the Atlanta Falcons also made it off-screen against the Dallas Cowboys.

Jale Walthall had 91 receptions for 1,289 yards and 14 touchdowns in his career.

Although he was penalized for his celebration, Walthall's celebration sparked a new trend throughout the NFL and highlighted college football's lasting impact on the professional world.

There is no information about who started the celebration, but a clip from a high school football game circa August 2023 shows a failed attempt at a headstand during a field celebration that is very reminiscent of Walthall's now famous celebration.

All we know is that, at least according to Oscar Wilde, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.
