PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. – During the week of October 21, 2024 through October 27, 2024, Calvert County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to 1,843 calls for assistance throughout the community, including, but not limited to:

Derrick O'Neal Gantt

CDS Violation: 24-81351

On October 21, 2024 at 7:20 p.m., DFC McCourt initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling southbound in the northbound lanes of Rt. 4 in Lusby. When I made contact with the driver, Derrick O'Neal Gantt, 57, of Lusby, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was emanating from Gantt's person. Gantt was found to be unfit to safely operate a motor vehicle. Gantt was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center. A search of Gantt's person before entering the prison revealed a bag of cocaine and a clear straw. Gantt was charged with CDS: Possession – Not Cannabis, Possession or Receipt of CDS While in Custody and Possession of Contraband in a Place of Custody.

CDS Violation: 24-82793

On October 27, 2024, Deputy Campbell responded to the Wawa at 305 Market Square Drive in Prince Frederick to a subject sleeping behind the wheel of a moving vehicle at the gas pumps. On arrival contact was made with Joshua Alan Dalrymple, 30 of Prince Frederick. The officers clearly noticed a glass smoking device with white powdery residue (suspicious crack/cocaine). A vehicle search uncovered used syringes, plastic bottles of suspected crack/cocaine and a bag of powdered heroin. Dalrymple was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with CDS: Possession – Not Cannabis and CDS: Possession of Paraphernalia.

Commercial Burglaries: 24-82796

On October 27, 2024, at approximately 3:38 a.m., Calvert officers responded to a series of commercial burglaries in Dunkirk. These burglaries occurred at Jersey Mike's at 10107 Ward Rd, Five Guys at 10105 Ward Rd, Apple Greene Wine and Spirits at 10121 Ward Rd and Jerry's Subs and Pizza at 10290 Southern Maryland Blvd. Upon arrival at Ward Road. During break-ins, officers discovered that the front window of Five Guys, the front door of Jersey Mike's and a window of Apple Greene Wine and Spirits were broken. The estimated value of the damaged and stolen property is unknown at this time. The investigators are continuing to investigate.

Damaged Property: 24-81554

On October 22, 2024, Deputy Hill responded to the 200 block of Shore Acres Drive in Prince Frederick for a report of a property destruction. The complainant advised that an unknown substance was poured on the victim's vehicle, causing damage to the exterior. The estimated value of the damaged property is unknown at this time.

Disordered: 24-81359

On October 21, 2024, DFC Tunnell responded to the intersection of Sea Gull Beach Road and Dawn Road in Prince Frederick for a report of a suspicious person. The complainant stated that a man was stumbling around on the roadway. Contact was made with David Michael Goad, Jr., 43 of Prince Frederick. Goad was confused and watched as he stumbled around the neighborhood. Witnesses said they had to slow their vehicles significantly to avoid colliding with Goad. Goad was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center and charged with disorderly conduct and public disturbance while under the influence of alcohol.
