SWAT called to arrest Lincoln man charged with robbery and assault

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln man was arrested early Sunday with the assistance of a SWAT team after being accused of robbery and domestic violence.

Lincoln police were dispatched to a hotel near Lincoln Airport at 10:21 p.m. Saturday after receiving a report of a domestic assault. According to police, a woman claimed that 28-year-old Jesse Adams attacked her before leaving the hotel.

The woman told officers she and Adams had been gambling before returning to the Americas Best Value Inn. On the way back, Adams allegedly threatened her and pushed his head against hers. When she returned to the hotel, the woman tried to lock Adams out of her room, but he reportedly forced his way back into the hotel, choking and punching her.

Hotel staff provided video evidence of the incident, which showed Adams attacking the woman, swearing at her and taking her phone. Police used the phone's location to track Adams to a residence near 39th Street and Madison Avenue.

Officers arrived at the home at 11:46 p.m. and attempted to arrest Adams, who refused to leave the home for nearly two hours. A search warrant was issued and the SWAT team was deployed. Adams was arrested without incident around 3 a.m

Adams is charged with third-degree domestic violence by strangulation and robbery.

He was booked into the Lancaster County Jail on $100,000 bond. His next court date is scheduled for December 11th.
