Clovis police issue arrest warrants for both men and women on drug charges

CLOVIS, New Mexico (NEWS RELEASE) – On November 1, 2024, at approximately 1:00 p.m., agents from the Region V Drug Task Force, assisted by officers from the Clovis Police Department, executed a narcotics search warrant in the 2100 block of Belair Rd The search warrant was the culmination of an investigation that began after the department received several anonymous tips about possible drug activity in the area.

Upon entering the home, agents and officers arrested Ignacio Gallegos (44 years old), Amber Martinez (33 years old), and Janene Velasquez (34 years old). During a search of the residence, officers found approximately one ounce of heroin, 14 grams of methamphetamine, numerous pills, including fentanyl pills, and several firearms.

Upon completion of this investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for Ignacio Gallegos on charges of Trafficking in Heroin (2nd Degree Felony), Trafficking in Methamphetamine (2nd Degree Felony), Being a Felon in Possession of a Firearm (3rd Degree Felony), and Possession of a Controlled Firearm Person enacted substance (4th degree felony). An arrest warrant was also issued for Amber Martinez for Distribution of a Controlled Substance (3rd Degree Felony). At the time of this press release, both individuals had not yet been arrested.

The Region V Drug Task Force and the Clovis Police Department sincerely thank the concerned citizens who provided anonymous tips regarding illegal drug activity. This valuable information allowed agents to obtain this search warrant and ultimately arrest warrants for the individuals involved.
