1 dead, 2 injured in accident in countryside south of Blair

BLAIR, Neb. (WOWT) – One person died and two others were injured in a crash near Blair on Monday.

According to the Washington County Sheriff's Office, a passenger in a Ford Mustang convertible was killed in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 133 and County Road P26, a few miles south of Blair, just before 6 p.m.

According to WCSO investigators, the Mustang was eastbound on County Road P26 when it ran the stop sign on Highway 133 and struck a vehicle before being struck by a pickup truck.

The driver of the Mustang and the pickup truck were both taken to the hospital, while the passenger in the Mustang died at the scene. The driver of the third vehicle involved suffered no injuries.

The sheriff says he will release the name of the deceased victim once he notifies next of kin.
