What you should know

The Pistons will play in front of their home fans on Monday, but a look at the spread shows they may need that home advantage. After playing just yesterday, they'll get right back to it, hosting the Los Angeles Lakers at Little Caesars Arena at 7:30 p.m. ET. Both go into the game strengthened by victories from their previous games.

The Pistons will enter Monday's game having (finally) defeated the Nets, to whom they had lost 8-2 in their 10 previous meetings. The Pistons celebrated a comfortable 106-92 victory over the Nets on Sunday.

While it wasn't a dominant performance, the Lakers defeated the Raptors 131-125 on Friday. The win marked a return to normalcy for Los Angeles, which suffered a surprising 134-110 loss to Cleveland in its last game.

The Lakers relied on the performances of Anthony Davis, who posted a double-double with 38 points and 12 rebounds, and LeBron James, who shot 5-for-8 from deep and posted a double-double with 27 points and 10 assists. Additionally, James achieved a 62.5% accuracy rate on three-pointers, which was his highest since April. Austin Reaves, on the other hand, was significantly less helpful: he scored 0-6 from a distance.

Detroit's win increased their record to 2-5. As for Los Angeles, their win ended a five-game road game drought from last season and now stands at 4-2.

The Pistons were well behind the Lakers in their last game in February, losing 125-111. Will the Pistons have better luck at home than on the road?
