Shasta detectives seek video of fatality at Halloween party

The Shasta County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who may have attended a Halloween party where an 18-year-old man was shot to submit information, including video footage, to an evidence portal.

The shooting was reported around 1:10 a.m. Oct. 27 in the 21000 block of Highway 299 in Bella Vista. Drake Myles Alfaro was found dead when officers arrived on scene Sunday.

Five other adults, whom the sheriff's office did not identify, were also injured. They were taken to Redding hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, but officials did not say what happened to them.

The sheriff's office did not say whether anyone was arrested in connection with the shooting. However, officers arrested three people that day on suspicion of resisting or obstructing a peace officer. They also identified a suspect and interviewed that person. It is unclear whether charges have been filed against this individual.

However, sheriff's and district attorney's detectives are asking anyone with video or other information about the shooting to contact the Department's Major Crimes Unit at 530-245-6135 or by email at [email protected] to contact sheriffs.

The video can also be uploaded to the prosecutor's office's evidence entry portal, officials said.
