Joe Rogan supports Trump on the eve of the election

CNN

Popular podcast host Joe Rogan formally endorsed Donald Trump on the eve of the election, a move that Trump's team was quick to tout as a major victory in the final hours of his campaign.

Rogan released his latest podcast on Monday with a two-and-a-half-hour interview with billionaire X owner and top Trump surrogate Elon Musk. Rogan then posted on X: “The Great and Powerful @elonmusk. If it wasn't for him, we'd be screwed. He makes, in my opinion, the most compelling pro-Trump argument you will ever hear, and I agree with him on every level.”

“For the record, yes, this is an endorsement of Trump. Enjoy the podcast,” he added.

The confirmation comes just weeks after Rogan interviewed Trump on “The Joe Rogan Experience,” an interview that was months in the making for the Trump campaign and is widely viewed by the former president's advisers as the crowning achievement of their media strategy to appeal to young men Elect low-propensity voters by having Trump appear on podcasts tailored to that demographic.

Trump, who was on stage at his second-to-last rally in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, when Rogan gave his endorsement, quickly drew attention to the development.

“It just came through the news that Joe Rogan just endorsed me, is that great? Thanks, Joe. That's so beautiful. And he doesn’t do that, he doesn’t do that stuff,” Trump said.

Trump said, “And he tends to be a little bit more liberal than some of the people in this room.”

Last week, Rogan posted on X that he had declined an offer from Vice President Kamala Harris' campaign to do an interview.

“Also, for the record, the Harris campaign did not back out of doing the podcast. They offered an appointment for Tuesday, but I would have had to drive to her and they only wanted to do an hour. I firmly believe this is best done in the studio in Austin,” said Rogan. “My sincere wish is to just have a nice conversation and get to know her as a person. I really hope we can do it.”

The Harris campaign declined to comment on Rogan's post.
