19-year-old driver killed after vehicle overturns in Gardena crash – Daily Breeze

GARDENA – A 19-year-old driver who was killed over the weekend when his vehicle rolled into the median of a Gardena road was identified Monday.

According to Jose Zamudio of the Gardena Police Department, the accident was reported around 6:30 a.m. Saturday in the 2900 block of Rosecrans Avenue, east of Crenshaw Boulevard.

Nazim Abdellali, a Lawndale resident, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the county coroner's office and Gardena police.

“While officers were conducting their investigation, the driver of a separate vehicle involved returned to the scene,” Zamudio said. “As a result of leaving the scene of the accident, the driver of the second vehicle was arrested by GPD officers.”

Police did not initially release any details about the alleged involvement of the second vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation, he said.
