“DeAndre Hopkins 'Remembers the Titans' in TD Celebration on MNF”

play

The Kansas City Chiefs traded a conditional draft pick to the Tennessee Titans two weeks ago for wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Hopkins, who had two receptions for 29 yards in Week 8 against the Las Vegas Raiders, had a much bigger impact in the Chiefs' matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on “Monday Night Football.” He made two crucial catches in the first half, including his first touchdown in a Chiefs jersey, which gave him the go-ahead score.

In case you missed it, Hopkins' celebration after his first touchdown referenced the Disney film “Remember the Titans,” perhaps a subtle nod to his former team.

Hopkins had 75 catches for 1,057 yards and seven touchdowns for the Titans last season. After a starting delay due to an ACL injury, he had 15 catches for 173 yards and a touchdown in six games before being traded.

Hopkins finished with eight catches for 86 yards and two touchdowns in the Chiefs' 30-24 overtime win.
