Wall Township resident charged after high school football incident

WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ – Kelly Davis, a 53-year-old Wall Township resident, has been charged with disorderly conduct and harassment following an incident at a high school football game. The charges were filed Saturday, Oct. 19, following an altercation at Friday night's game between Howell Township and Wall Township.

During the postgame, Davis allegedly walked onto the field and confronted a 17-year-old player from Howell Township. The confrontation led to unrest, requiring police and school security intervention. Witnesses said Davis' behavior was aggressive, causing concern among players, coaches and spectators. Officers and school staff handled the situation and escorted Davis off the premises.

After the incident, police collected witness statements to fully understand the incident. As a result, charges have been filed against Davis, who is now scheduled to appear in Wall Township Municipal Court. Patrolman John Kelly is the investigating officer in this case.

The Wall Township Police Department emphasized its commitment to maintaining a safe environment at school events. They encourage the community to report incidents that threaten the safety and well-being of youth. Davis is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law under the laws of the United States and the State of New Jersey.
