The Greens are supporting the Republicans in the fight against their Trump-backed rival

Environmental groups are spending money to support House Republicans in the final weeks before Election Day, while another group announced it had hit a financial milestone in the 2024 election.

EDF Action Votes, a super-political action committee affiliated with the Environmental Defense Fund, has spent more than $140,000 in recent weeks on mailings and other actions against the Republican opponent of Rep. Dan Newhouse (R-Washington).

The group is also spending money to help Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, a moderate Republican from Pennsylvania, in the race against a Democratic challenger.

On the final day of the race, spending by green groups broke records. The League of Conservation Voters, the leading environmental campaign financing organization, said the group and its affiliates spent $164 million in support of presidential candidate Kamala Harris and other Democrats in the 2024 election cycle – nearly $50 million more than in the 2024 election cycle Year 2020.
