The Cavaliers forward goes viral after highlight sequence against the Bucks

Evan Mobley's breakout season is more than just a hypothetical talking point when looking at a limited preseason sample.

We're now eight games into the new year and the Cleveland Cavaliers forward has shown multiple times that he's making the leap to all-round stardom right before our eyes.

Fans and analysts took notice of this game against the Milwaukee Bucks and the clip went viral on the NBA's X account on Monday night.

We can break this sequence down in a few different ways.

First, this is a direct byproduct of the Kenny-Atkinson effect. Instead of slowing down after blocking, Mobley pushes the ball along the floor to keep Cleveland moving in transition. Atkinson said last week the team will continue to push Mobley to be the team's ball-handler in certain situations, and this is a great example of that.

Next, let's talk about why this sequence was particularly impressive for Mobley.

Watch the piece again. Look at what hand he uses at both ends of the game. A dominant right-handed hitter, Mobley used his offhand to block the shot and dunk in traffic on the other end of the court. This is Mobley's natural talent and one that simply cannot be taught or trained.

Mobley is now averaging 17.6 points, 8.1 rebounds and 2.8 assists through the first eight games of the season. The version of Mobley we are seeing is much more confident and aggressive, as seen in this piece.

This newfound confidence will certainly lead to future sequences like this.
