The Dallas Cowboys acquire the former second-round pick in a trade with the Carolina Panthers

The Dallas Cowboys have acquired wide receiver Jonathan Mingo and a 2025 seventh-round pick in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round pick, a source has confirmed. NFL Network's Tom Pelissero was the first to report it.

Mingo, a second-round pick (No. 39 overall) in 2023, has 55 receptions for 539 yards and no touchdowns in 24 career games. Due to inconsistency at quarterback, Mingo never found his breakthrough in Carolina. To make things even more difficult for the Ole Miss product, the Panthers brought in rookie wide receiver Xavier Legette, who capitalized on many of Mingo's opportunities a year ago.

At 6-foot-10 and 220 pounds, Mingo brings more physicality to a Cowboys receiving corps that has been pushed around by opposing secondaries this season, leading to the Cowboys being all over the place on tight-window pass attempts this season were at the top of the list.

On his weekly radio show Tuesday morning, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said Mingo was someone the Cowboys liked during the draft process. He also pointed out that the Cowboys are “buyers, not sellers” ahead of this afternoon’s NFL trade deadline.
