Live 2024 Maine presidential election results

Republican Donald Trump and Democrat Kamala Harris will face off in Maine for the state's four Electoral College votes. Maine does not award all of its Electoral College votes to a single winner, but instead splits them up by awarding two to the winner of the statewide popular vote and one to the winner of each of the state's two congressional districts. Trump's campaign focus was on the economy, immigration and crime. Since taking over as Democratic standard-bearer after President Joe Biden left office, Harris has argued that she would usher in a new era and has worked to improve the care economy, protect abortion rights and uphold democracy. In 2020, Biden won 53% of the statewide vote and also won a congressional district. Trump lost the statewide contest by 44%, but won a congressional district and therefore received one vote in the Electoral College. In 2016, Hillary Clinton won the state with 48% of the statewide vote, Trump won with 45% and one congressional district. Maine voted overwhelmingly Republican until 1988 (the last Republican to win the state that year was George HW Bush), but has since supported predominantly Democratic candidates.
