Trump praises wife Melania, interrupts victory speech to give her a kiss on the cheek

New Delhi:

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump thanked his wife Melania Trump on Wednesday in a speech he delivered as he neared the midpoint in the race for U.S. president.

He also praised her book, calling it the best-selling book in the country. In the memoir, Melania Trump wrote about her pro-choice stance on abortion when she met Donald Trump in a New York nightclub and about rumors that her son had autism, but left out many personal details of her life.

“She works very hard to help people. So I just wanted to thank her,” Trump said during his speech in Florida.

At the Palm Beach Convention Center in Florida, as Mr. Trump was on the verge of victory, he vowed to bring about a “golden age” for America after winning a mandate he described as “unprecedented and powerful.”

Vice President-elect JD Vance and his Indian-American wife Usha Vance were also present at the podium. Trump praised both his vice president and Usha for their support throughout the process.

“This was a movement like no one had ever seen before, and frankly, in my opinion, this was the greatest political movement of all time. “This is important because we will help our country heal,” the president-elect said. The inauguration is scheduled for January 20th.
