Bayern Munich – Benfica 1-0: Jamal Musiala scores in the Champions League

Bayern Munich ended their two-game losing streak in the Champions League with a narrow win over Benfica.

Jamal Musiala scored the only goal of the game, putting the Bundesliga giants ahead in the 67th minute by nodding in Harry Kane's header across the six-yard box.

Bayern were the better team against a cautious Benfica team, with Kane and Serge Gnabry both stopping dangerous shots in the first half.

Leroy Sane, who came on as a substitute in the second half, was also denied twice by Benfica keeper Anatoliy Trubin.

The German team needed a big performance as they had come under pressure in Europe.

After beating Dinamo Zagreb 9-2 in their opening game, they lost 1-0 at Aston Villa and 4-1 at Barcelona.

But back at the Allianz Arena, Vincent Kompany's side secured a much-needed victory and moved into the top 24 of the league phase table, currently sitting in 17th place and level on points with Benfica in 19th.
