A fire danger red flag has been issued across Connecticut for Wednesday – NBC Connecticut

The National Weather Service issued a fire danger warning for all of Connecticut on Wednesday.

The warning is in effect from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m

Winds will increase on Wednesday, increasing the danger. Speeds of 10 to 15 mph and gusts of up to 30 mph are expected, according to the NWS.

The dryness remains and the relative humidity is only 40%.

Any fire that breaks out can quickly ignite and spread.

According to the NWS, outdoor burning is not recommended.

The red flag warning comes as crews battle multiple wildfires in Connecticut. The largest is on the Berlin-Meriden city limits on Lamentation Mountain. The fire broke out Monday evening and quickly spread up the mountain. According to the fire department, the flames had destroyed an area of ​​80 to 90 hectares by Tuesday afternoon.
