Man with gun arrested during college threat investigation

HENRY COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) – A Martinsville man was arrested during a threat investigation at Patrick & Henry Community College.

According to the Henry County Sheriff's Office, William Shane Goodman is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a controlled substance.

HCSO, in collaboration with Patrick & Henry Community College campus police, arrested Goodman on Monday, November 4, 2024, on the college's campus after campus police were notified of a potential threat from a student. Campus police arrested Goodman when sheriff's deputies responded.

The nature of the threat was not disclosed.

Goodman is being held without bail at the Henry County Adult Detention Center.
